Cool Windows 10 Coming in This Hot Summer
Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 operating system will be released this summer in 190 countries and 111 languages. The exact date has not been announced yet.
Windows chief Terry Myerson says, "We continue to make great development progress and shared today that Windows 10 will be available this summer in 190 countries and 111 languages.”
Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for existing Windows 7 and Windows 8 users and that offer will start pouring in from this summer only. Microsoft is partnering with Lenovo and Tencent and Windows 10 will be released in China too.
Lenovo will have Windows 10 upgrade services at 2,500 service centers and some retail stores in China. Tencent will also offer an upgrade pack with a variety of popular apps including QQ. By releasing Windows 10 in China, Microsoft will combat software piracy like issues in the region. Microsoft is offering Windows 10 upgrade even to those customers who are using the pirated versions of Windows. Windows 10 features a new Xbox gaming app and another feature in Windows 10 will allow Xbox One games to stream to PCs and tablets which support the new OS.
Microsoft seems to be taking a more traditional approach with the new OS following criticisms over Windows 8. The new OS will have a streamlined look and it can be loaded on devices of all kinds including holograms. Windows 10 was initially expected in autumn, based on the release history of Microsoft. Microsoft is also working with Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi to offer customers a test version of Windows 10 on the Xiaomi Android smartphones.
